Hi everybody- having a problem accessing restored files.
Company A's server crashed, no data recoverable on the disks. They have tape backup, so I'm using the server from Company B to restore. Servers were purchased together, same model tape drives etc. I've restored the data to the local hard drive of Company B's server, but can't access some files.
I've reset the security settings of the restored data to give the administrator full access. When I try copying some of the files, I get the error:
______
Error Copying File or Folder
Cannot copy filename: Access is denied.
Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.
______
The attributes for the files that give these problems shows up as "C". The ones that work show up as "AC". I can't change the attributes, it says:
______
Error Applying Attributes
An error occurred applying attributes to the file:
path\filename.extension
Access is denied.
______
As you can probably imagine, I'll be hung if the data can't be restored, so help would be greatly appreciated!!
