Hello, any now if is possible restore a database from one off-line backup and allocate the archive logs from the some database?
This is the scenario
I have a backup that have 5 days, my database have a crash and I need to restore.
Is possible to restore de database files and allocate the archive logs until today?
How can I do this??
My database is oracle 9i 9.2.04
Thanks ,
Victor Lopes

Yes, Victor, your scenario can work, but only IF YOUR DATABASE IS IN ARCHIVELOG MODE and you have all of the archive redo log files from the last backup, through to the most recent on-line redo log files.

If your database is not in Archivelog mode, then you can only restore (not recover) your database to the point in time that you last backed it up, and you must have all database files (i.e., database datafile, on-line redo log files, and control files) checkpointed to the same checkpoint.

Someone on this forum once asked:

Have you hugged your backup today?

Good luck Victor. [2thumbsup]
