I'm getting the following error message. It doesn't matter which server I select.

logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.

What security settings do you use. When it comes to restore jobs this message has to do with the security settings for the domain/machine that you are restoring to, in other words : do you have enough rights to do this ??

regards

Hi

I plane English you can't restore if you don't have access
to the remote machine(if is is remote restore)

Hi Jdavis,

First of all... What version of ARCserve are u using?

What are you trying to restore??
Is it flat file backup or a database backup.
If a database... what DB are you trying to restore.
is it Exchange \SQL etc....

If you are trying to restore Exchange
Is it a Database level restore or mailbox restore.

If it is a mailbox restore(brick level) and if you are using Brightstor V9
When you submit the restore job, watch out for the dialogue box wich has "agent and security" on the title bar.

this will have 2 tabs
1. Machine
2. Dbagent

On the Dbagent tab, put in the security information with which you had configured the Backup agent for Exchange .

this will resolve the issue.

cheers
