restore exch 2k3 vss to recovery storage group w/ BE 9.1

Does anyone know if it is possible to restore an Exchange 2003 Volume Shadow Copy Backup to a Recovery Storage Group with Backup Exec v. 9.1 ?

From the Veritas and Microsoft documentation it implies using the traditional backup method to restore the the recovery storage group, not the VSS backup, its not clear.

Does anyone know, and if so, how to proceed, or have any pointers to useful articles, tips or documentation?

I would much appreciate it. Thanks
