restore DB backup Oracle in Unix

Hi there!!

Could anyone known if is posible to restore a from a oracle sun 8.1 dump to hp unix enviroment, if not posible
what can i do to "migrate " this..
Really i have to do this becouse im tryng to evalute oracle
database aplication but i don have the same enviroment..

Use export / import and ftp the dump file in BINARY mode

OR

if the database is small, then just tar it up and ftp it to the other server (in BINARY mode)
