Hello, all. We use SQL Server 2008r2 and a database failed to start. I want to restore the database but i need a help, how to do this.

It would be good to know an error what you did receive. But, before you can recover a database to its latest point in time, you must back up the tail of its transaction log. The tail-log backup will be the last backup of interest in the recovery plan for the database. Because no transactions can occur at this time, using WITH NORECOVERY. Not all restore scenarios require a tail-log backup. You do not have to have a tail-log backup if the recovery point is contained in an earlier log backup, or if you are moving or replacing (overwriting) the database and do not need to restore it to a point of time after the most recent backupGive you some links for more information Hope that can be helpful
