I had an Toshiba e-335 which started to become defective.
fortunately the vendor alowed me to replace and upgrade (under warranty of course)I chose an iPaq h2215.
I tried to restore my backed up data from the Toshiba to the
i-Paq and the restore command would not appear. Logged onto
HP's website; even chatted with Tech Dept. which said it's not possible. Perhaps there may be another method to extract the data from a backup.dbk file while on the PC and then import it into outlook? Is this beating a dead horse?
Or can this be done?

Unfortunately the Tech Dept is right. It is because you are using a different model. The backup file you have would only be good for the e-335.

What are you needing to extract for the backup file that needs to be in Outlook? If you have Microsoft Outlook on your PC and synced that with your e-335, then all calendar, contacts, and task should sync to your 2215, otherwise there is no way that I am aware of to extract the data from the backup file.
