Hi,

Summary:
IBM DB2 version 6.1 running on Red Hat 6.2, unable to restore from an online backup due to 'rollforward pending'.

Full Story:
Last week we inadvertently deleted some data from our database and decided to retrieve it from backup. Before restoring the data, we shutdown access to the db for customers, ran a complete online backup but failed to archive the DB2 logs. We ran a restore to a point in time from 3 days previous, exported the data we needed but upon restoring to the latest backup, we received the standard 'rollforward pending'. When we try to rollforward to end of logs, we are getting an error that data is missing because the previous restore lopped off the logs necessary for restoring the db.

After researching the problem and contacting IBM, we found we need to reset our SQLOGCTL.LFH config file in order to access the 2 days worth of data we are now missing. The tech has the program necessary to reset this file, but without a contract with IBM we are unable to get help from them. We are running DB2 v6.1 on RH 6.2, and IBM will not give us a contract without a migration plan and a whole boat load of money.

Has anybody run into this problem, or heard of a solution outside of IBM? We aren't opposed to paying for the solution as we have in the past with IBM, but we aren't in a position to pay for the full migration at this time. All we need is access to the two days worth of data so we can export it and dump it into our production database.

Any information would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance.
