Hello

After a power outage our HiCom 300 turns back with a very old database and all our extensions are changed to a very old date, I was checking the disp-vegas; and found that it has a 3 month old backup there, I just made the sta-list and have the .PRO file, how can I delete and restore the information on the PBX.

I would thanks all the help that you can give me.

I have been working with this PBX since 2 years back, but never take a training, so all I have made is reading the manuals and this website.

I assume that you are NOT in the USA? Therefore I assume that your Hicom 300 uses AMOs that are almost identical to those of the HiPath 4000.

I am not familiar with the procedure you mentioned. However, if what you have is the entire list of Switching Unit AMOs necessary to rebuild the system, then you need to delete the current Switching Unit database by performing: CHA-DBC:RESSWUDB=YES;

You get one warning, then the SWU database will be deleted. You must reload the system: EX-REST:SYSTEM,RELOAD,STD;

After the reload, your Switching Unit's Seven Segment Display will indicate the "hockey stick", meaning EMPTY DATABASE. Assuming that your file has all of the SWU AMOs, you can use the ComWin Macro feature, or the ComWin "Command List" feature to transfer the database AMO by AMO to the system. You can also "Copy" (Control+C) all of these AMOs, then in the ComWin "buffer" area (where you typically type), right-click, and select "Copy Clipboard" > "AMO by AMO". Either of these methods should work.

When all of the SWU AMOs have been implemented, to load the database, type: ACT-USSU:LTG,1;

The system should load. Be SURE to perform EX-UPDAT:BP,ALL; twice, and EX-UPDAT:A1,ALL; twice. Hopefully your system will have a more current database at this point.

YES, this procedure means NO DIAL TONE for a while! YES, this procedure is dangerous! If that ".pro" is not what I think it is, you could be destroying your best database, and not be able to recover!

So be careful!!!!!!!!!! Dop not attempt this unless you know what you are doing!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the help, yes, I'm in Mexico, I notice that a full restore is not needed, we dont miss the basic setup, the problem is with the extensions, is there a way that I can delete all the extensions saved into the pens and only run the scsu and sbcsu AMO's for that? if yes, how can I delete all the extensions only?

You would have to delete the stations manually, using DEL-SCSU for analog stations and DEL-SBCSU for digital stations. But that would no doubt be quite a challenging task because a station cannot be deleted until it is properly deleted from the Groups to which it belongs - such as Pick Groups, Hunt Groups, Keyset configuration, etc.
