Is it possible to restor a tape from ARCserve 6.5 with standard NT 2000 backup program. If so how do I do. It`s DLT tapes. From Server A NT 4.x with ARCserve 6.5
to Server Win NT 2000 with only standard backup built in. ?????????

Hi Ken,

To the best of my knowledge you cannot do this as Arcserve writes it's own file format / header on the tape which will not be recognized by the standard NT Backup program.

I suspect you are asking as you have found that Arcserve 6.5 is not Win2K compatible and need to restore some data? If this is the case you probably have only a couple of options:

1) Upgrade to Arcserve 6.61 with the service pack for Win2K compatibility
2) Restore the data to your current environment and then perform a network copy across to the new server

Good luck and let me know if I can help further.
