hi all

I am a new comer here. I need to save the content of an old tape in a new folder. so, i wonder anyone can tell me the steps that i should follow to do this. thanks in advance

to recover data from thsi tape you can do two things.

1) scan the tape in with scanner -i
With this you can recover any single file from that tape. Be aware scanner takes time. depending on the type of tape it can take hours to do this.

2) scan the tape with scanner -m
this will rebuild the media index info and from there you can do saveset recovers.

One thing to remember for either meathod, you cannot do cross platform recovers. Unix to Unix and NT to NT are fine NT to Unix or Unix to NT won't work
