I have a BCM450 that another company tried to upgrade it to 6.0. In the system it says 6.0 but in the logs still 5.0. plus it wont accept 6.0 patches but will 5.0 so it's still at 5.0
The question: If I do a back up and restore it to a new 5.0 450 unit without the expansion card will I have a problem. The card will be swapped from the working system at time of switch.
Reason is trying to add IP sets and it wont let you, keep getting invalid DN. There could be corruption. Want to do level 2 reset but it's a full blown system and customer wont let us do it.

You don't mention how many ip sets..
System will go to 100 phones without CRC card.
With CRC card system will go to 300 phones.

Did you add the additional ip phones in Telephony resources -ip phones configuration to allow more sets to be added with in your number range.

Did they add the correct upgrade licence from 5 to 6.
Check in key codes.

Are you referring to the expansion chassis or just a card.

Should not make any difference if the chassis is not on the new system.

The only problem will be if the bcm is now at 6.0 then the backup will be 6.0
There fore can't be applied to a 5.0.

Go to key codes and confirm the software levels..10 is 6.0
9 is 5.0

Alarm list and Software History will also show what happened with the attempted upgrade.
