Hi All,
I have tried three different media and two different tape drive to restore and I still get the following error while I try to restore. It starts restoring couple of file and suddenly throws the following error.

I am tring to restore on a different server than the backup belongs to.

New volume on /dev/rmt0.1:
Cluster size is 262144 bytes (512 blocks).
The volume number is 1.
The backup date is: Wed 17 Mar 00:22:02 2004
Files are backed up by name.
The user is r52ops.

Any attempt by AIX gurus to crack this.

The following option has been tried

1. block length is tape drive 0,
2./tmp had adequate file storage,
3.Used three different media for the restore of different dates.
4.Two tape drives has been tried out

HUMM... ANY IDEAS

Thanks in advance.

HI,

Normally "The media surface is damaged." on 3 tapes would bring me to think tha all these medias were damaged at the time while they were written to,on the given drive.
