Scenario
I have Legato v7.1.2 installed on a Live environment. The environment has a mixture of Windows 2003 Server machines and Redhat Linux machines. The Networker Server is installed on the Windows 2003 server, and there are 2 Networker Storage nodes on Windows 2003 Server and another 2 Networker Storage nodes on Linux. I also have several different Windows Network Clients. I am also using Legato to backup an Oracle 10g database.
I also have a Disater Recovery (DR) environment. On this environment there are also a mixture of Windows 2003 Server machines and Linux machines. The specifications, hostnames, ip addresses etc are different to that of the Live Environment.

Question
Whats the best way to restore data from the live environment to the test environment. If I restore the bootstrap from the live environment, I will have all the configuration information from the Live which will include the wrong number of drives in the backup unit, the wrong hostname for the Networker Server etc... Is that correct?
What are the steps I need to take??

Thanks...

A DR does nothing else but recover the data to THE SAME machine. Yes, you can rename a server but not during a DR process.

Ok, so what procedure would you recommend in this scenario. It seems that with other backup software, tapes can be placed directly into the drive, inventoried and catalogued. This seems like a long procedure which doesnt really help with recovery times...

Give it the same name and isolate it from the network as long as you don't need it. You can get along with different hardware but of course you have to adjust later.
