Hi all,

One of our NT servers has gone funny buggers to the point where we need to reboot everyday. The customer has finally approved a reinstall from scratch. (ie., format the HD and install OS and then apps.) This NT server is a managed node. I want to keep the same OID and settings.
My understanding is that if I recreate the node, it will get a new OID. I do have the managed nodes' DB backed up.

Is it possible just to copy the files Tivoli requires, restore them onto the reubilt machine and then restore the object database on the managed node? I understand there are services and registry keys that need to be 'dealt' with to get this working, and Tivoli accounts that need to be created.

Any ideas on how this can be accomplished cleanly without leaving any bits behind?

Thanks in advance! :)

The easiest thing to do here is to install the Framework from scratch. Then do a restore on the database for this MN. This will allow you to keep the oid and all the other information that is necessary. When you install from scratch, you will be installing a new TMR, but when you do the restore, you will replace the "TMR" database with the MN database.
A wlsinst -avh will show what is installed on this MN so that you can put the same release and patches as befor.
Thanks,
