Restarting Tape Engine after backup 1

Hi,

We are running BrightStor Arcserve 11.1 (Build 3060) on Small Business Server 2003 using a Rev drive for the tape backup.

At the end of the scheduled backup we have a bat file that runs to restart the engine. I tested the bat file manually and it works. Then a couple hours later the pruning job takes place. We would come in every morning and have to manually restart the tape engine. I put in place a schedule job to start the tape engine in the morning after everything ran but before any one came in.

As of this morning the tape engine still needed to be manually started.

I've run out of ideas on how to automate starting the tape engine. Any help would be appreciated.

Patch up - there are problems at the unpatched level you have and the REV drive (such as not being able to eject the cartridge without stopping/starting the tape engine).

I'm guessing this is why you're doing this in the first place.
