Can a RedHat 7.3 box be restarted from a remote PC?

Speaking of restarting, I know how to "# shutdown now", but what (if there is one) is the command to restart? Hope I was of some help...

Yes, you can either use 'reboot' or 'shutdown -r now'. Check the shutdown man page for more options.

or you can use command init 6 and it will reboot the system.
But you will loose all connection while system is booting up. If you want to see what to have console of linux server to you pc then you have to use terminal server.
