Hi folks
Does anyone know if there is a max size for the restart.ism fil in Accpac6.0? Yesterday we experienced an issue where the users could not log on to one of our databases - error "unable to open the UI - another process has locked the database." Checked for locks - no locks on that DB. We eventually got all users to log out, deleted the restart.sim and the semaphore.bin tables from the site folder logged in andand all was ok.

We have a hosted solutioution where the Site folder sits centrally in a share with 26 individual SQL db for our clients - oddly we only had this problem with one company. I was able to log into another company and run the restart record report - it ran to 5 and 1/2 pages.

Thanks

There is no max size, but it can be corrupted. However, there's something strange with how people are doing their jobs. There is typically only a handful of entries in it. What were the records for?

Hi

Yep - that would be normal. We have a bunch of users who never re-start, never delete, they just go on and re-do the entire exercise which then obviously fails again and so on and so on. Beginning to wonder if the folks who attend the training actually pay any attention to what is said.

Thanks for that though. I was just wondering if there was a size limitation. We have 26 companies hosted so when we have to go and delete or re-name any of the files in the site folder it impacts over 500 people - as you can imagine getting them all to log off is a mission and a half.
