What is happening here?

When I boot up my machine, it idles with 190 megs allocated memory (I only have 128 ram in the machine) and the cpu idles at about 75 percent!!

Even after unloading everything in the tray. the system idles at about 130 megs/60 percent.

Is it typical for ME to use most of the system resources just to run the OS or do I have a serious problem?

thanks for any insight,
Adam.

I'm having a similar problem with Server 2000. However, I've got ME running on a separate machine idles at about 100K. If I get an answer I'll let you know.

I also am having continuous trouble with resources. My CPU runs (idles) constantly at 100% except on rare occasions. Memory is often at 80%. It makes my system crazy. I don't know what to do. (Running 800MHz Celeron and 256MB RAM)
