Resolving URL!

Hello,

Is there any component or algorithem on resolving URS.
For eg.
Abs URL -->

http://www.papersinvited.com/postings/index.htm

Rel URL --> ../Calendar/CalendarMain.htm

If I send above said links to a URL resolving function I supposed to get below said Abs URL.

http://www.papersinvited.com/Calendar/CalendarMain.htm

Please help me if anybody knows the solutions.

what u want is a string parser
cut index.html =>

http://www.papersinvited.com/postings/

for every ../ you cut a level and after that u do a concatenation with the last part of the rel URL.
if u find a / u must cut all levels of the base URL =>

http://www.papersinvited.com/
