This message shows up repeatedly in the eventlog of my site's PDC:
"This host can not be ACS since the Active Directory has not been properly configured via the QoS ACS management console. Please configure the subnets via the QoS ACS mangement console. "
I found these instructions using the old Google search for resolving this (past <<EOM), however, I am reluctant to follow them because this system is a PDC. Questions.
The instructions say to create an account and add it to the local administrators for the host. As this is the active directory root, accounts have to be added using the active directory. Would I add the account the same way then?
Also, as it then has to be included in the local administrators group, what do I need to do to make sure no one tries logging in through this account?
Thanks,
<<EOM
If you receive the subject message, it is likely that you haven't configured the Quality of Service (QoS) Admission Control Service (ACS) which requires a service account that is NOT automatically created.
To resolve the problem:
01. Create an account named AcsService.
02. Make this account a member of the local administrators group for the host computer.
03. Right-click My Computer and press Manage.
04. Expand Services and Applications and expand Services.
05. Double-click the Admission Control RSVP service to open its' properties.
06. On the General tab, set Startup type to Automatic.
07. On the Log On tab, click This account.
08. Type AcsService and the appropriate Password and Confirm password.
09. Press Apply and OK.
10. On the General tab, Start the service.
