Resolving all DNS lookups to the same IP address

I have an urgent problem to resolve. I have a client that wants a DNS server on its ISP network (they own the network).

They want to see if users are using the latest update of their software. To do this they want to set up a DNS server that resolves any DNS lookup to the same IP address (i.e. 192.168.0.1). They will then use that IP to check the software version (that part is complete).

Anybody know how to set this up - and what software to use. I was planning to use BIND 8 for this, but can it be done?

Is the server it wants to resolve to (the 192.168.0.1 server) a DNS server as well?

the 192.168.0.1 server is a web server.

Do you mean set up reverse DNS to the same IP address for every host? If so, you can't do that!

I'm a bit confused as to what your trying to accomplish. My suggestion to you is to build an sms server or network ghost server and update employees computers through that, this way they will all have the lastest software.
