I am trying to solve the activation question. I know you can switch Norton Antivirus to a second computer -- you have up to about 5 or 6 activations -- however, I called norton and told them I was switching - following the one computer at a time deal.

My question is this -- can I use a 2004 disk already activated on one computer -- install it on a second computer and then buy a totally new subscription? As though I were just using the disk for the program? (It certainly would make sense to do it from Norton's point of view -- less product production and more money to them-- but I don't know if they do it. )

Thanks.

Gaia,

Yes i do believe you can. Norton verifies your subscription online now. So if you did install it and the key was already in use, you should just have to call them up and tell them you want to purchase another key. They will give you one and then when you put it in it will verify over the internet and be proven as valid.
