resolution detect and redirect

Forgive me for my ignorance, but

Does anyone know if it is possible to detect the screen resolution with php and then redirect to one of two options?

Since PHP runs on the server, you won't be able to detect the client's screen resolution no.

You could use Javascript to detect it.
