You can use Solstice Disksuite. This is provided with the original CD set (disk 2 I think). It's quite a complicated subject, so I'd advise reading up on it at
before taking the plunge. An alternative is Veritas, but I have no experience of this - perhaps others could advise? I have assumed you have additional diskspace you want to assign to various filesystems. If, however, it's a matter of shrinking one filesystem to add the space to another, it gets a little more complex and backups/restores come into play. Not much help at this stage, but it's quite a complicated subject and one that requires a bit of research first. Good luck.
Veritas, as well, is a complicated package (and has a price tag). Once set up, however, makes changing disk sizes and options a breeze. I highly recommend it if you have the budget and time to dedicate to learning it.
Unfortunately, I'm a home user, and can't afford to purchase the Veritas software.
If they made it available for home use, a shareware or limited version, I'd install it in a minute...
I'm a computer professional, but have specialized in HP-UX, Linux and Windows (in the past)...
I'm trying to learn all about Solaris Administration, to broaden my knowledge set...
But, I've got to tell you... HP is SOOOO much better written than Solaris, and has numerous GUI tools to do almost anything you can imagine... It's so much more user friendly, and so much easier to manage and maintain...
The equipment is a little more expensive than Sun equipment, but it's so much easier to maintain, that a company would actually save money in the long run, because it takes less people to maintain it...
Never having worked with HP, I'll take your word for it. However, as mentioned above, Disksuite comes as part of the installation media and is therefore 'free'ish. It's also not a bad GUI to work in. In fact, I just enlarged one of my partitions on the fly with it this morning! Other Solaris GUI-based products are Adminsuite and the Solaris Management Console. Good luck - those horizons just keep on expanding (or is it just that they're getting further away?).
