I have a class in my css file that sets the max width of all swf's to a certain width. The problem is that when I embed my flash file and it resizes the swf, it only resizes it horiizontally, not vertically.

IE. the swf is 425 px wide originally. The css sets its max width to 300 px. This works, but the swf isn't scaled to the same ratio as the width, and therefore it looks terrible.

Any ideas?

... or, if i cannot do that, how can i get the new dimensions of the swf?

the problem is that because the stage is scaled, when the contained swf keeps it original ratio then it is stretched due to the fact that the stage is scaled...

ie. if i set the stage to exact fit scale and then try to resize the contained clip, it is stretched by the orginal stage scaling. thats why i need to know how the original stage was scaled.
