Resizing Images

Hi,

I have an important question. I am creating a web site with a lot of photos. I am bringing in the photos as a huge size and then scaling it down in Flash to a much smaller size.

Will the size of my movie be smaller if I resize the photos beforehand and import them as a small size?

If anyone knows the answer to this, please let me know. Thank you.
