resizing headshot to fit a postcard

Hello everyone I am new to this forum so thanks in advance for your help. I am an actor and trying to resize my headshot photo which has a size of: 3500x2800 to fit on a postcard so it needs to be resized to: 1875x1275 (wxh).

I have tried doing this in photoshop by changing the image size but everytime I do this I lose aspect ratio and I end up with a squished image. Can anyone shed any light on this? I would be so grateful.

3500x2800 will only proportionately size down to 1875x1500 or 1594x1275. You need to do some cropping to achieve your desired dimensions.

Cropping your source image down to 3500x2380 (trim the top and/or bottom) will resize to the exact dimensions you need without squishing.
