Resizing forms in Access

Hi :
I have a form on the screen displaying data. The form is maximized.
After finding the right data to display, I want to open another form through a button on the first form.
The "On Open" property of the second form has a
"DoCmd.Restore" so as to open the second form as a window in the middle of the screen, overlaying the first form.
The problem is that the first form ALSO GETS RESTORED, at the same time as the new one. Can't seem to keep the underlying form maximed !!! Help.

possibly setting the properties of this 2nd form to 'Popup'. This property can be found in the properties of the form (can't remeber which tab it is under)
