Is there a way to resize the fields in Form Design to make them all the same height or width without having to do each one separately?

Also please help me with FileMaker terminology...Are the fields called "objects" or "layout part"

When you're in layout mode, if you want to resize ALL fields- click on one of the fields, then press SHIFT + CTRL + A and all of the fields will be selected. Resizing 1 from that point will resize all of them.

umm i dont think fields are called objects or layout parts. an object would be like a pdf or sound file. Layout parts are the header, title header, body etc... fields are just called fields as far as I know.

Hi there, thanks for the reply, but I need to know how to resize them all to the same size, even if they aren't the same size to start with, not just all at the same time.

Thanks again,

Dawn

oh, well you can still use SHIFT+CTRL+A with one field selected to get them all, then I think the option is under View --> Object Size- then enter a pixel length in the appropriate box- should do it.

That doesn't work. 'View object size' gives the overall dimensions of all the fields. (Crazy but true.)
If the fields are aligned vertically, you can change the horizontal size because it will be the size of the largest field.
Likewise, if the fields are arranged horizontally, you can change all the heights.
If they are not aligned, you're out of luck.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to do a global size change.
Depending on what your layout looks like, you could line up the fields, re-size them in one/two hits and then put them back where they belong.

The simple, albeit, ugly solution is to select one field and size it how you want it. Then you can duplicate it and change it to the next field, on a pc it's ctrl+d to duplicate. If your talking about a few fields it's not so bad, but could become tedious if you have many more than that.
After you duplicate all of the fields you need, simply select the old fields and delete them from your layout and replace with the new resized fields.

Everything will be OK in the end.
If it's not OK, then it's not the end
