Hi all

Not sure if this is possible or not and i can't find any posts on it.

I have a report that prints out details of patient referral response times. There are several fields that can be all contained on the one line and fit the report nicely. The problem i have is the last field. The field is a notes field and can have 255 characters when full in it. Not all the patient referrals have this field filled in. What i want to know is, when i preview the report can i set this field to a larger size on only the records that require the extra space. Otherwise i have to set the field to a large enough size so that the few cases that fill it can all be seen. The amount of pages in my report is greatly increased if this field is left at full size.

Hope i've made sense.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Make the Field as wide as you need it, then right-click on the field.

Select Format Field, and check the Can Grow box.

It will let your field grow only when required.

Sorry. Got the problem sorted. Wasn't aware of the can grow field in the field format options. Maybe this will help someone if they ever encounter the same problem

Thanks MJRBIM

i just realised that was there myself as you replyed. Thanks for your time anyway.
