Resize Volumes

3 volumes (single ide drive) on a NetWare 5 server.

2 of the 3 are almost full, so I have to stay on top of purging them. The 3rd volume in question is 40gb and has almost 30gb free! Is there a way to resize volumes, and if so, does it work? I know I could just move whole directories to the free space in the other volume but I would rather not due to login script drive letter mappings.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Hi,

I will assume you don't want to delete and recreate the 3rd volume smaller.

There is one way to do it.....ServerMagic by PowerQuest. You can shrink the size of the 3rd volume and give the free space to the other volumes.

Warning: Make sure you have at least 2 known good backups as a safety net.

I have done it and works great. The only issue is, do you have $400/500 to invest?
