Hi guys,

got some questions here regarding Veritas Enterprise Administrator (GUI) when resizing volume- stripping.

I managed to resize my volume, specifying the extra GB and also to select which disks to use for this volume.
Under striped across checkbox, there are options for
1) Controller
2) Tray
3) Target
4) Enclosure

My question is which one should i choose if i want to strip from two disks?
Is Veritas terms the same as Solaris?
As in Solaris disk management, cWtXdYsZ:
c - controller
t - target
d - disk
s - slice

Controller - more of like a card (e.g. SCSI)
Enclosure - more of SAN storage itself
What about "Tray" and "Target" in VEA terms?

Thanks in advance.

It all depends on the disk hardware you are using. If the disks you want to mirror between are connected to different controllers, you can use 'controller'. If they are in separate storage units (enclosures) you can use enclosure. If they are just on different targets you can use target, and so-on. These will all vary depending on the type of storage you have connected to the system. If you don't care how they are mirrored, I think you can just leave all of the options unchecked.

Annihilannic.
