I am so lost... I made a movie clip that resizes like a box that opens up. In that I have a few frames but nothing special. On one of the other layers I have another movie clip known as dynamic text. This clip doesn't scale and is placed where the scaled box reaches it's end (frame wise).

So then the text box displays the text and everybody is happy campers...Well, well, well - not in my case - When I resize the box clip to other dimensions the text clip follows the lead, leading to all kinds of havoc. Please correct me if I'm wrong - You can place a movie clip in a layer of another movieclip that resizes without effecting the first? That was a mouth full...

Not sure I understand you correctly, but you can put one clip (child) inside another clip (parent) and then resize the child without effecting the parent or its contents.

Text is touchy, if there is any resizing or stretching to a clip that the text is inside - even if it's a clip inside another clip - it will bug out and not look right.

hope this helps

I am also confused to what I wrote (I can see the problem in minds eye, not that it help us in any way :) In any case your explanation is basically how it looks...
I also think you are right text is just a bit on the fragile side, I did away with the second clip and it's a lot better actually completely fixed. Thanks..
