Resize internet explorer

Apologies if this is not the place to post this question but I wondered if anyone knew how to prevent internet explorer from not resizing. For example, I sometimes come across a page that has resizing diabled, however, in Firefox I can use the Windows 7 feature that makes the window half the size of the screen even though I cannot physically resize the window by hand. With Internet Explorer I cannot do this, as in, it will not resize to half the screen size when dragged to the edge of the screen.

Does anyone know how I can force IE to resize?

Just so there is no confusion, most web pages are fine and can be resized properly. Occasionally, I will find a page that has been designed not to be resized. It is these pages that I need to be able to resize.

I'd suggest you give some examples of sites that do/don't work, as well as mention if you're using any add-ons in Firefox or plugins in IE... also which version of IE you're using...

Also, you may want to consider posting in this forum, since it sounds like it's an IE issue, not really a Windows issue:

Are you saying that you cannot drag the edges of an IE windows and resize it that way?

If you right-click on the IE window button in the Taskbar (at the same time holding down the Shift Key), and press the Size menu item you should get a "cross hairs" in the middle of the IE window, if you then press one of the Keyboard arrow keys IE might half size in the direction of the arrow key. If that last paragraph sounds a bit flaky that is because I was playing with it as I typed.
