Hello,

I upload files to Content Server with large sizes and I want to reduce automatically their sizes. How can I do ? Do you have any script to do that automatically without download files. Thank you in advance.

Have a nice day.

Use a system built for it a.k.a Archive Server
Or zip the file before uploading
Or download each file zip it up add it as the new version and remove the old one.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

The problem is the document are already uploaded. And I can't download document and zip them because I have 55,000 documents. Do you have any script to do that automatically, or do archive server can resolve this problem ?

can you be more specific about what you can do to the files to reduce their size ? are we talking about images that can have the resolution reduced or documents etc ?

Employ Content Move module in your livelink identify your 55000 documents and move them into AS with a job .Make sure your AS supports a Pool that supports "Compression"
Its compression algorithm is the same as what you would have done in a program.

If you have never worked in AS before
Install and configure AS is very different from livelink as in Livelink you can make the installer do
all the activities. In AS the DB- the shell has to be pre-created tested before you can run the installer
Then you have to learn OTDS
After that it should be easy.
Keep most at defaults if you don't know what to change.
Test adding a file through DSH or DSCLIENT

Now on the livelink side Content Move
Then make sure AS is also now available as a Provider, you should see AS available as the drop down list when you go and select "Storage Providers"

Once a file is in livelink livelink records its file size so if you change its size it is going to show a lot of errors.

Or if you want to avoid AS you can do WR, LAPI, SOAP,REST or OI/OE whatever is your preferred way.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
