i have just bought a used 206 module and i cant program the feature #104 or the #301 To let my system know what line are comming in. all i realy want to do is have a dialtone tone when i pick up

Are you using a stand-alone Partner System, without a processor? If so, #104 (Number of Lines) and #301 (Line Assign) do not apply.

Simply set the Auto Line Select to pick the lines in the order you desire. If you have connected fewer that the maximum lines the system can handle, just don't include them in programming.

From Ext. 10:
1. FEATURE 00
2. Left INTERCOM button TWICE
3. Right INTERCOM button ONCE
4. Dial an Extension Number
5. Dial "* *"
6. Press the Line Key Buttons in the order that you want the lines to be accessed. (If you want Intercom to be accessed first, press the LEFT intercom button)
7. Dial "* *"
8. If you want to program another Extension, go back to Step 3
9. FEATURE 00

ok maybe im doing something wrong i did what you told me now when i pick up the phone it goese to line one but there is no dialtone i check the wire comming in and it is fine (this is a stand alone system)

Well, if it goes to Line 1 and there's no dial tone, you either have a wiring issue or a bad 206.

First try the phone on another Station Port. Does it work? If so, you have a bad station port.

Do you get Intercom Dial Tone on the telephone? If yes, then the station wiring is good. If not, you have a bad Green/Red pair.

If you move the dial-tone to the line 2 port on the 206, and press Line 2 on the phone, do you get Outside Dial Tone? If yes, then you have a bad Line 1 port on the 206. If no, then get a single-line telephone and plug the cord that you are using to go into the CO port into the line jack of the telephone. Do you get Dial Tone? If yes, your whole 206 is bad. If no, use another line cord a check from where your dial tone is coming from.

Good luck, it's just a matter of eliminating possibilities one at a time.
