Hello,

In the office I have a Symantec Firewall/VPN Appliance Model 100 and the last administrator leave me without its password.

I've read the manual but I doesn't give me the guide lines on how to reset the appliance in order to reset the password.

Has anyone here had the experience resetting this kinda device?

thanks in advance.

Have you checked Symantec's web site for information? As I recall, there is a dip switch configuration that can be used to reset the unit. It is also possible to blank out the configuration by upgrading the firmware.

Go to and search for "200r memory reset". I realize you have a model 100 not a 200r, but Symantec's 3 vpn appliances (100, 200, 200r) have a lot in common, and sometimes the search works better using "200r" because its not a common number like "100".

You should realize that once you reset the device you will need to reconfigure it from a blank state.
