I have several users who access the mail server remotely. My problems is because they're accessing the server via the internet Windows doesn't notify them when they're passwords are about to expire, nor does it allow them to change their passwords. Is there a work around to this problem? Thanks for any assistance rendered.

No, my users use a third party ISP to access the Internet and Outlook express to access their mailboxes.

3rd party wouldn't matter as long as it's a broadband "always on" connection. of course, you'd need to make their machines members of your domain as well. Aside from that, if you use OWA, password resets are allowed.

True that password resets are allowed in OWA, but the only problem with that is that you have to login to OWA to change your password. If the password is already disabled due to a password expiring you will not be able to login to change the password. The only way that I know how to fix it is good customer support. Reset their password to a common/default password, have them login to OWA, and have faith that the distant end user will change the password once they get in. I don't believe that there is an actual fix action for this, but hey I've been wrong before. Let us know if you find anything out. Brian
