I upgraded my Cisco router to a WTR160N wireless. I have comcast internet and a new mac computer. I have had connection problems ever since I hooked it up. I have spent over 5 hours on the phone with Linksys support techs. Still I have no solution to my connection issues. I constantly have to reset the modem and router to obtain my internet connection. I loose it at least 5 times a day if not more. This has been going on for days and I am so tired of it and especially not getting a solution from Linksys. Can anyone help please? I have the ethernet cable from the internet port on the modem going to the router internet port. I have port one on the router going to the mac pc. If it ever works right then I would unhook the ethernet cable to the mac. Now its hooked up and has been. I have a WEP security instead of WPA because of the connection issues. Linksys set it this way. I even paid 9.99 for a linksys tech to have remote power of my pc and still I have these issues. Help

Sounds like a timeout issue. Please include screenshots of the basic setup options. What did you have before? Since powering off the modem, are you sure you don't have to re-enter certain credentials (circuit ID, modem serial number, email addy and password, etc.)into the modem?

Again, what did you have before? Have you tried a firmware update on the router? What kind of cable (I would use a crossover, thinking that auto-MDX is timing out, i.e. a firmware bug)? Also, I would look (Google) bugs and fixes---sometimes down-revving firmware helps (at least on HP servers...and don't get me STARTED on WIND0Z3!!!lol)...
