I have purchased a refurbed 1100 Extender for my Definity, but it was not reset to factory default. I can not get in as the administrator to change any settings. I have called Avaya help and they want to charge me at least $150.00 to even talk about it. The vendor is dragging his feet and I need this fixed quickly. Does anyone know how to reset the Extender to factory defaults? Thanks.

Hook a laptop up to the RS232 port on the unit unsing a vt emulator and recycle power on the extender. The light will change colors as it boots. Wait until you see the 8 fast yellow blinks, then follow the instructions below from MCK's website.

To re-set a 1000 unit to Factory default (includes passwords):
1. Get into Menu on switch unit. (rs232 cable, type menu at 8 yellow LEDS)
2. select passwords, hit enter
3. at admin password prompt, type init (in caps) and hit enter
4. at reset eeprom prompt, select Y.
5. the password is now reset to 00000000 (8 zeros)
