Resetting BCM50 Rls 2.0 SU009

We've got a BCM50 Rls 2.0 with SU009 and I wanted to rebase the system for use in our tech room:

Attempted a [green]Level 2 Factory Reset[/green] to remove patches and passwords;

But when I began entering the reset sequence the system ignored the reset pushes,
(although I have no issues with SU009 and can change psswds while I have access through Elmt Mgr),
my question is:

[highlight]Is there an initial step, prior to reset pushes that I'm stupidly missing? If a switch needs rebasing urgently I'm not so sure I could...[/highlight]

On BCM50, level 2 reset can only be done when system is being power up which is documented on the BCM50 CD Rom.
