I believe I said this before but here it goes again. If you don't have the CONFIG-xxxxxx pswd then you have two choices.

1- Perform the DEBUG procedure which can be kinda tricky to the average Joe.

2- Take the Norstar system apart and short the battery. This will default the system and require reprogramming of entire system.

If your system is equipped with an expansion cartridge, you also have a third choice: downgrade the system.
[ol 1]
[li]Power down.[/li]
[li]Remove the expansion cartridge.[/li]
[li]Power up.[/li]
[li]The alarm set prompts for a cold restart. Accept. The system restarts and the programming defaults.[/li]
[li]Power down.[/li]
[li]Reinstall the expansion cartridge.[/li]
[li]Power up.[/li]
[/ol]

If no expansion card, power down, put one in, power up, wait for time and date, power down, remove expansion and reboot.

Shorting the Capacitor:
You run the risk of damaging the capacitor by shorting it's leads and/or shortening its life expectancy. Not recommended.
