Reset NS10A

Hi all

I am the unfortunate buyer of a NS10A from ebay. Well, the person didn't reset the PW before sending it, nor do they know the password.

Well, I called Ns for information, and they won't help, because the FW isn't registered to me. Ok, I say, I'll buy a support contract on it (grumble). They won't do that either... they mentioned something about sending the box back in to them for "recertification". Argh.

Well, first off, does anyone know how to reset the device using the pinhole? It doesn't seem to respond. Tried to hold it for 4-6 secs, then 2, then 4-6 as it states on their site. Nada... I would love to be able to reset this device. Also, I know this is a biggy, but if someone could send me the 2.61 and 3.01 screenOS as well, well, it'd make my day ;)

Keep trying with the pin holes. I have done it but it took several tries before the device would reset.

Try using the username: netscreen and password: netscreen. This is the default user ID and password for the box. I would try this first before attempting to reset the appliance.

Thanks, I'll give it a whirl. I can't seem to get it though... My real problem is that I don't even know if this machine is usable, and I'm loathe to spend another cent on it until I can confirm that it works.

If you or someone else would be so kind, I would SO appreciate a copy of screenOS 2.6 or 3.0 for the NS 10. I was told I could TFTP it in and use the serial number reset option. My email address is dma550@hotmail.com.
