I have recently bought a netbuilder router on ebay, I cant get passed a netlogin prompt. I can't find a way to reset this to factory defaults. All I can find looks to be mixed switch and some router options none of which make much sense to me. The model is superstack II Netbuilder 432.

facing the unit on the left side is there a hold with a button visible behind it? If you press it you'll get a pc stop error and > prompt. I believe you press ? and it gives you options list. From there you can reflash the unit, you'll need a valid boot.68k though.

Thanks that seemed to work. IS there a menu setup option? Similar to the Cisco one? I am ok with cisco, newbie to 3com. I can now login with root and blank password and if I type ? I get a lot of words :) How do I set IP and hostname? I can maybe then work out the rest. How do I set the boot file? I have to type the link afgter rebooting every time, it keeps looking in primary/boot.68k each time. It iused to look in 1120141/boot.68k I think.

Been awhile but after you login if you type menu I think it gives you the available options for the firmware. Then to go into a menu it would be like menu -ip. That would put you in the IP setup menu.

managed to get into the menu and changed the boot option so it boots ok, however now i get insufficienty privilage when i try to get into the menu. I think it may be user manual search time? :)

then if i reset it again and manually boot to the file i can get into the menu? am i setting off a config file somewhere? that i miss if i boot manually.
