I used PuTTY and WinSCP to log into a voicemail card that was recently installed in an Electra Elite 48 system. I changed the PBX's IP address, subnet mask and gateway so the PBX could be connected to my office computer network. Unfortunately, I entered the wrong number for my gateway address. (I changed the IP address to 10.100.1.30, the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, and the gateway to a number starting with 76.255... whereas I should have used 10.100.1.1 for my gateway.) Of course, I lost connection with the PBX after making these changes.
I rebooted the PBX, and hoped the default address might still work. I can not get a connection on default address 169.254.0.1 or my new 10.100.1.30 address. Furthermore, neither of the two little LED lights next to the ethernet jack on the voicemail card are lighting up after reboot. (I confirmed that my voicemail system is working, however.)
When I connect my laptop to the VM card and boot it, my laptop is assigned an IP address of 169.254.90.113 on subnet 255.255.0.0. This leads me to believe the system may still have its default addresses in place, but, when I ping 169.254.0.1, I receive a "hardware error" message.
Can I reset the card's IP address, subnet mask and/or gateway address so I can log into it again? Given the "hardware error" message, have I somehow damaged the card's ethernet capabilities?
