Hello
I'm not sure how to search this forum as I haven't used it in ages - seems like it's changed. So I'm posting my question and I apologise if this has been answered.

How do you default the username and password for vMCD's ESM. I know and have used a process for doing it on a 3300 which involved using the serial port therefore no username and password required but is there a similar way to do it on vMCD?

I almost imagine one might be able to connect to the 'serial' port using a particular port number?

thanks in advance

Mitelpassion,

From the MSL command line, use the following command:

siterm /var/atlas/tenant0.0

If it's a multi instance machine, replace 0.0 with the instance number - eg for instance 2, use 2.2

When you want to exit the siterm (SImple TERMinal) use CTRL-\ then C to exit back to the shell.

This command gives equivalent of serial access to the RTC

I dont know if it work for Vmcd, but you can try to connect with putty in raw mode on port 2002.

It's working on MXeIII so I would imagine it will work on Vmcd.

p011406, Trouble is connecting via putty will ask me for the password of the ESM. I don't have this.
techy, I'm going to give this a try...thanks
