Do any of you guys know if a way to reset the client options from the client itself. I've had some users that have had problems that could have easily been fixed from the client if this were available but I'm on a helpdesk and don't have access to the GW functionality in Colsoleone due to the "too many hands in pool" syndrome. For this reason, if I could remote into the workstation and reset the options from there, I could save a trouble ticket!

Thanks guys for all your help!

Chris

Many of the options are available for change from the client on the Tools/Optons menu. Are you meaning in addition to those?

What I'm actually referring to is something similar to the "reset client options" feature in Consoleone. I want to know if there is similar functionality that can be performed from the client, such as a command prompt utility that resets the client options or something to that affect. "reset client options" is a troubleshooting step often performed on the server side to help correct many client side issues. It's run on the user object to correct these problem.

Thanks for the response,

Chris

Can you run the standalone GWCHECK utility (or can you get priveleges to run it?) Do a file find on GWCHECK.EXE, it is usually in the Admin/Utility/GWCheck directory on your GW server. This would give you access to the Reset Client Options outside of Console1, but still requires you have significant priveleges on the server (I think).

Check this link out:

It's about GWCheck and at the end, it states:

"It might also be installed along with the GroupWise client software in the gwcheck subdirectory of the client installation directory."

I tried running it on my workstation and got a missing .dll error, but it probably wasn't installed for the workstation orginally. It appears there is hope - although you might have to reinstall the client software.
