Is there a way to reset a Baystack 450 to default settings? The telnet access on this has been restricted to certain IPs and I can't get onto it. It is at a remote site so I don't have physical access to the box.

Also, can the Baystack or BPS 2000 switches be managed using a modem attached to the console port?

Thanks.

Modem should work, as long as the settings are 9600,N,8,1(default) and the console cable is correct.

(straight-through I think-though I use Accelars too and they're null-modem -- or is it the other way around ;-)

The switch won't be able to tell how far away you are; as long as commands are coming through the serial interface, you're local.

Si.
