By lengthy process of elimination, removing a band of controls off a tab control page, it came down to a list box. It must have become corrupted during attempts to correct some SQL driving it. Compiling, decompiling, repair database did nothing to identify the problem.
Surely somewhere Microsoft must have an error list for us to check with? To give the error code and then the words "there is no message for this error" is a bit off. Is there such a reference site for reserved errors?
Thanks PHV. at the time I removed relationships, tables contents, and form components one by one. My error went when I removed an unbound list box. It had nothing in it's row source. Replaced it and my error went away. I did your suggestion and it referred to having to have a related record, but that did not seem to be my error. Never mind, it's gone now, but I will remember that trick in the future and hope it provides a quick pointer as to whats wrong. Very useful
